In 1979, I began my career as a Special Education Teacher in Roseburg, OR; then received a Master’s of Occupational Therapy from Puget Sound University in 1984. My career has focused on teaching, advocating, and coaching individuals from infancy through adulthood in self-advocacy, access, and self-determination. I recently retired from Evergreen Public Schools in Vancouver, WA, and am now a self-employed coach & consultant in assistive technology, augmentative and alternative communication, and universal design for instruction. I am highly vocal about equity, independence, and self-determination for all individuals, especially students with different abilities.
